Alumni donate X-ray and laboratory building to OYSCATECH

A new X-ray and laboratory building, donated by the Alumni body of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, (OYSCATECH), Igboora, has been completed.

The newly constructed facility is to complement existing healthcare infrastructure on the polytechnic’s campus.

The Acting Rector, Mr Adekunle Olaniyi commended the Alumni Association for the good-spirited efforts aimed at enhancing learning environment for students and service conditions for staffers.

Mr Olaniyi, while inspecting the two-bedroom flat was full of admiration for the alumni, noting that it would serve as a springboard for more donations.

“We appreciate the Alumni Association for its initiative in giving back to its alma mater; we never expected it but now that they have given us this facility, we are so excited about it. We believe that this singular donation would stimulate more donations from our alumni and other well-meaning individuals,” the Acting Rector stressed.

Formal handover

The President and General Secretary of OYSCATECH Alumni Association, Messrs Mojeed Anifowose and Yekeen Mohammed had officially informed the management of the polytechnic of the completion of the project.

According to them “we are pleased to inform the management that the x-ray and laboratory building, the foundation of which was laid by the Acting Rector together with other management committee members on the 24th March 2020; has been completed.”

“The Alumni Association Executives wish to formally handover the X-ray and medical Laboratory building to the management of the institution after its completion. We are of the opinion that the donation would help to improve the health and well-being of students and staff of our great alma mater, especially during the Covid -19 pandemic period and beyond,” the executives noted.

They also appreciated the trust, understanding and the unflinching support received from the management, under the leadership of Mr Olaniyi.

“We are fully persuaded that Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora will continue to play a vital role in agricultural and technological advancement of the State and youths in general,” they reiterated.

The President expressed gladness on the opportunity to give back to the alma mater, four months after the inauguration of duly elected executives.
