Katsina – The Executive Chairman, Katsina State Universal Basic Education Board, Alhaji Lawal Buhari Daura, has called on stakeholders to join hands with relevant bodies for the successful implementation of the Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) programme in the state.
Daura made the call during a one day stakeholders sensitization meeting on BESDA held at Aya Primary School, Funtua.
The SUBEB boss represented by the Board’s Assistant Director Social Mobilization, Alhaji Sahalu Zubairu Kaita said the programme which is a World Bank assisted project was aimed at addressing the problem of out of school children in the state.
According to him, eight local government areas, including Funtua, Malumfashi, Bakori, Musawa, Kankara, Kafur, Dandume and Danja are to benefit from the programme in the zone.
Alhaji Lawal Daura urged the education secretaries of benefitting local councils to ensure the needed sensitization and mobilization to make the programme successful in their areas.
Malam Hussaini Abdullahi, the Social Mobilization Officer of SUBEB, in his remarks, explained the objectives of the programme which is to reduce the high rate of out of school children in the state.
Alhaji Datti Muhammad Malumfashi, on behalf of the School-Based Management Committee Chairmen on its part, assured of their support and cooperation for the programme to achieve the targeted objectives.
