KATSINA – Sanusi Buba, the new Katsina State Police Commissioner, has pledged to work within the ambit of the constitution to ensure a secure, safer and better state devoid of crimes and criminality.
Buba, who spoke during his maiden press conference held at the command headquarters in Katsina on Monday, said he would deploy community policing strategy to reduce crime across the state.
According to him, “This we are going to achieve with honesty, professionalism, transparency and through dedication to duty.
“The command under my watch will do everything humanly possible to remain neutral, apolitical and professional before, during and after the 2019 general elections.”
The new police boss also promised to build on existing synergy among sister security agencies, the government, traditional institutions, religious leaders and people on the ongoing onslaught against the numerous crime waves in the right frontline councils bordering Rugu Forest in Katsina with Zamfara State.
He solicited for support, cooperation, collaboration and partnership of members of the public by giving the command useful and timely information to enable it rid the state of all forms of crimes and criminality.
He said: “Our mission is to make the state crime free, so as to create conducive environment for business and economic activities to thrive.”
Buba before his posting to Katsina State Police Command was the DCP, Department of Finance and Administration DFA, zone 7, Abuja.
He hailed from Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State, holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Administration from ABU, Zaria.
