LAGOS – Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said the time has come for an alternative government to take over from the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration, describing what obtains now as a failed government.
Prince Uthman Shodipe-Dosum, Personal Assistant to Chief Olabode George, the party’s leader in the state, who spoke in a one-day colloquium in Lagos on Monday titled, ‘Atiku: A Defining Paradigm’, said the event was meant to proffer possible alternatives to the present Nigerian reality.
He stressed that the deliberations would be pivotal on the basic premise that if a system had flaws, broken and irreparably wrongly footed, the people could not acquiesce in helpless indifference, but, must seek solution in some redeeming rectifications.
He added: “I have not found any sane Nigerian who would vouch for the continuity of the present festering malady now frightening the Nigerian union, save the dubious time-servers, who would muddle the truth and mortgage their liberty in tawdry personal survival.”
Shodipe said the nation was not at ease, adding that there was tumult everywhere, there was muddle in the innermost recesses of the national character, the very concourse of power is stripped of any magisterial coherence, devoid of any defined rectifying mission.
The PDP chieftain said the national architectural template had been continually shattered amid glaring nepotism and the deliberate insensitivity of power towards ethnic balancing in our diverse little universe.
Dr. Eddy Olafeso, PDP Vice National Chairman, South West, said he was optimistic based on the fact that Nigerians had decided to take the country away from APC because for the three and half years, it had been mismanagement on all three pillars of security, economy and anti-corruption, which the APC campaigned with.
